Job Summary
A well-established metals manufacturing and service organization is seeking a Flat Laser Operator for a direct hire opportunity in Fresno, CA. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented manufacturing professional with CNC flat laser experience who enjoys precision work, quality-focused production, and hands-on machine operation.
The Flat Laser Operator will set up, operate, inspect, and maintain CNC flat laser cutting equipment used to produce precision metal parts according to customer specifications. Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC flat laser cutting machines to produce precision metal parts according to drawings, blueprints, and job orders.
- Perform daily machine startup, shutdown, routine maintenance, cleaning, and general equipment care.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished products using forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Inspect finished parts for accuracy using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and production procedures.
- Support changing production priorities and complete additional duties as assigned.

- Pay range: $23.00 to $25.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Set up and operate CNC flat laser cutting equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and job orders.
- Inspect finished metal parts using precision measurement tools.
- Safely load, unload, and move materials using forklifts and overhead cranes.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant manufacturing, machining, CNC, or laser operation experience.
- Prior flat laser operating experience preferred for this role.
- Ability to successfully pass a skills-based assessment covering reading, math, inspection and measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving.
- Basic math skills, including measurement conversions.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and related inspection equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality parts.
- Ability to adapt, multitask, and prioritize in a rapidly changing production environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Willingness to participate in a registered apprenticeship program as part of onboarding and new hire training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience operating CNC flat laser cutting machines in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Experience using forklifts and overhead cranes in a production setting.
- Familiarity with metal products, fabrication workflows, and quality inspection standards.
