Job Summary

We are seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer for a direct hire opportunity in Boise, ID and in Salt Lake City, UT with a well-established regional fire protection organization. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented design professional with fire sprinkler system design experience who wants to contribute to commercial, industrial, and residential life safety projects.

The Fire Sprinkler Designer will prepare accurate, code-compliant sprinkler system layouts, hydraulic calculations, material lists, and design documentation. You will work closely with project managers, field teams, contractors, architects, and engineers to support high-quality design, constructability, and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Design fire sprinkler systems in compliance with NFPA standards, building codes, and local requirements.
- Prepare sprinkler layouts, hydraulic calculations, material lists, fabrication drawings, and submittal documents using AutoCAD, Revit, HydraCAD, or related tools.
- Review project specifications, construction drawings, submittals, and design criteria to ensure accurate system layouts.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, architects, engineers, and field installation teams to support design accuracy and constructability.
- Provide design revisions, clarifications, and technical support throughout project execution.
- Maintain organized project files, documentation, and records for approvals, submittals, and project tracking.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $70,000 to $110,000 per year, based on experience.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Design fire sprinkler systems for commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
- Develop sprinkler system drawings using AutoCAD and HydraCAD.
- Review construction plans and translate project requirements into accurate fire protection designs.
- Collaborate with project teams to support high-quality, code-conscious system layouts.

- 1+ years of fire sprinkler system design experience.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and HydraCAD.
- Strong working knowledge of construction plans and building drawings.
- Familiarity with wet, dry, pre-action, and related sprinkler system types.
- Ability to work 100% onsite position in Boise, ID or Salt Lake City, UT
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work in a team-focused environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- NICET certification preferred, but not required.
- Additional fire sprinkler design experience is highly valued.
- Experience supporting a range of commercial, residential, and industrial fire protection projects.
