Financial Controller
Position Length: 6 Months (with potential to extend)
Location: Cary, NC 27513
Hybrid status with 2 days in-office per week required
Compensation: $140.00/hr.
OVERVIEW
The Financial Controller represents North American Finance Operations on key projects and initiatives, alongside the Global Process Leads, while actively contributing and leading the way to successful financial systems delivery. They will oversee the accounting department including managing team performance, adhering to standards, and continuously improving overall performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Champion robust internal controls across all systems and processes, collaborating with UK and business teams to enhance and maintain documented controls in line with the Internal Control Framework.
• Ensure monthly financial statements are accurate, and compliant with group policy.
• Manage US audit process, ensuring March year-end, July inclusion, and interim audits are completed on schedule.
• Perform critical reviews of monthly financial statements, identifying and escalating anomalous trends or transactions, and ensuring appropriate resolution.
• Deliver high-quality financial accounting services in line with established requirements, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), standards, policies, and procedures.
• Develop and report KPIs to monitor team performance and inform senior management.
• Ensure accurate valuation and recording of all assets and liabilities to optimize working capital and cash flow.
• Ensure tax accounting and statutory reporting for US and Canada entities comply with all legislative requirements, including timely and accurate submission of relevant returns (e.g., 990, sales tax, 1099/1042, property tax, business licenses, escheat).
• Establish and maintain effective credit policies and procedures to maximize sales, minimize bad debts, and ensure timely collection of receivables.
• Ensure accurate processing of supplier payments and employee expenses in accordance with outlined policies and procedures.
• Maintain effective control over remittances and payments to ensure accurate, timely transaction recording and strong payment controls.
• Prepare the North American Finance Operations team for S/4HANA implementation, minimizing disruption to day-to-day operations.
