Our client is looking for a Financial Analyst II! They are a fintech company and this candidate will primarily act as the financial data expert and reporting specialist for the Transformation Department.

Job Duties
The core responsibility is to manage and analyze the financial health and performance metrics for a specific area of the company. Think of them as a dedicated financial detective and forecaster.

Bookkeeping & Compliance: The analyst handles basic accounting tasks like managing the general ledger, cost centers, and expense approvals to ensure everything is accurate and follows standard financial rules.

Budgeting & Forecasting: They help create the annual budget and then continuously project future expenses to help management plan.

Performance Reporting: They track and report on both financial metrics (money spent) and performance metrics (how well the department is doing) on a monthly basis.

The "Why" (Variance Analysis): A key duty is variance reporting. This means they look at the budget versus what was actually spent and explain why there is a difference (e.g., "We spent $10,000 more than budgeted on X because of Y").

Data Handling: They spend a lot of time working with financial systems and databases (like Hyperion and Smartview), importing, exporting, and manipulating data, especially using Excel (and ideally Access).

The candidate is a Financial Analyst who will take large amounts of raw financial data, organize it, explain what it means, flag potential problems, and use it to help the Transformation Department manage its money and projects efficiently.

Key Requirements
Experience: Typically 3-5 years of relevant experience.

Must-Have Skills: Strong MS Excel skills; experience with Hyperion/Smartview is highly beneficial.

Location: Hybrid in Atlanta, GA (3 days onsite).

Duration: 12-month contract (project/workload based).

Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, but extensive experience (10+ years) will be considered.
