Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatch Manager to oversee our transportation and logistics operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating the dispatching of freight, ensuring efficient transportation planning, and managing communication with drivers and clients. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in transportation management systems, and excellent communication abilities to facilitate smooth operations within our supply chain.
Responsibilities
• Manage daily dispatch operations to ensure timely delivery of freight.
• Utilize GIS and GPS technologies for effective route planning and tracking.
• Oversee the use of transportation management systems, including Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
• Coordinate with 3PL providers to optimize logistics and shipping processes.
• Maintain accurate data entry for dispatch records, shipping, and receiving activities.
• Analyze transportation data to identify trends and improve efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
• Provide exceptional customer service through effective phone etiquette and communication skills.
• Supervise fleet management activities to maintain vehicle readiness and compliance.
Experience
• Proven experience in dispatching, logistics, or supply chain management is essential.
• Familiarity with transportation planning concepts and freight operations is a plus.
• Proficient in using multi-line phone systems for effective communication.
• Strong typing skills for accurate data entry tasks.
• Experience with AS400 systems is advantageous but not required.
