Position Overview
The Family Law Staff Attorney will provide high-quality legal services to low-income and vulnerable clients on a broad range of family law matters. This position includes courtroom representation, client counseling, and participation in community outreach efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Represent and advise clients in family law matters, including regular court appearances, hearings, and trials in State and Federal courts.
Conduct client intake, interviews, and provide legal advice and counsel.
Research and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations related to assigned cases.
Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, orders, and other legal documents.
Negotiate and prepare settlement agreements.
Participate in outreach events and organizational activities.
Work full-time, including some evenings/weekends as needed, within the 12-county service area.
Qualifications
Licensed to practice law in Florida and in good standing.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
3–5 years of experience in civil litigation or working with low-income/vulnerable clients.
Experience handling family law cases with ability to manage a high-volume caseload.
Strong advocacy, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with diverse community stakeholders.
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
Valid Florida driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance required.
