Job Title: Family Disability Navigator
Location: Winter Park, FL
Salary: $48,000–$50,000 annually
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate, resourceful, and highly organized Family Disability Navigator to support children with disabilities and their families in Orange County. This position plays a critical role in helping families access the services, support, and advocacy they need to thrive. The Disability Navigator will work directly with families, schools, childcare providers, and community-based organizations to ensure children receive appropriate assessments, services, and accommodations.
This is a full-time, temp-to-perm position based in Winter Park, FL.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for families navigating disability-related resources and services.
Coordinate with local schools, childcare facilities, and community programs to ensure families have access to appropriate supports.
Guide families through the process of obtaining evaluations and assessments for their child’s developmental, educational, or behavioral needs.
Attend and advocate on behalf of children and their families at Individualized Education Program (IEP) and/or 504 Plan meetings.
Provide wrap-around, holistic case management to support the child and family’s overall well-being.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of services provided and family progress.
Build and maintain partnerships with local service providers and agencies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field (required).
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children with disabilities and their families.
Strong understanding of IEPs, 504 Plans, and special education processes.
Knowledge of community resources and services available to children with disabilities in Orange County.
Excellent communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) preferred, but not required.
