About the Role
We’re seeking a hands-on Facilities & Grounds Supervisor to lead our campus custodial and maintenance operations. This is a 12-month contract with the opportunity to transition into a permanent role. You’ll oversee a dedicated team, ensuring that our campus stays clean, safe, and ready to welcome students, faculty, and visitors every day.
What You’ll Do
As the leader of our maintenance crew, you’ll:
Lead the Team: Supervise Grounds Maintenance Attendants, Facilities Maintenance Attendants, and Maintenance & Operations Assistants.
Plan & Schedule: Build daily/weekly work schedules and assign tasks using our work-order system (SchoolDude).
Maintain Standards: Inspect facilities and in-progress work to ensure high-quality results, safety compliance, and efficiency.
Support Events: Coordinate with departments to manage set-ups and tear-downs for campus events.
Coach & Develop: Train, mentor, and evaluate staff while supporting hiring and performance management.
Manage Resources: Oversee supplies and equipment, recommend upgrades, and maintain inventory.
Ensure Safety: Enforce campus health and safety policies, including proper PPE use and chemical handling.
What We’re Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
3+ years’ experience in building or grounds maintenance.
1+ year in a lead or supervisory role.
Knowledge of custodial/grounds best practices, equipment, and safety standards.
Key Skills:
Strong leadership and team management.
Ability to plan, schedule, and direct custodial/grounds operations.
Clear communication with staff, faculty, and vendors.
Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
