Fabrication Tech
-Pay: $20-24/hr DOE
-Shift: 1st shift
-Location: Camarillo, CA
-Job Summary
Fabricate and assemble a variety of plastic bottles, carboys, tanks, tubing, and related components into finished products. Perform welding, bonding, bending, and cutting operations in accordance with customer specifications, work orders, and company quality standards.
-Essential Functions
• Follow established layouts, drawings, and plans to complete fabrication tasks in the proper sequence.
• Read and interpret measurements using calipers, tape measures, and rulers; ability to read a tape measure to 1/32 inch.
• Position parts in jigs, fixtures, or clamps according to layout marks on worktables.
• Select, mark, cut, and bend materials as specified by work orders and specifications.
• Set up and operate fabrication equipment, including hot-air welders (similar to soldering), mills, drill presses, saws, flange-forming machines, tubing benders, ultraviolet curing machines, and lathes.
• Assemble, construct, bond, and/or weld components to meet work order and quality requirements.
• Record lot numbers for all materials and products used in production.
• Inspect work to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Clean finished products using approved chemicals and non-linting wipes as directed.
• Test completed products using electrical leak testers, pressure testing, vacuum testing, or other required methods; accurately document test results.
-Education / Certifications
• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required; or
• Four (4) or more years of related experience and/or training; or
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Technical schooling or certification in machining, plastics fabrication, or welding is preferred.
