Position Summary
Immediate need for an experienced Litigation Paralegal in the Jackson office to support a dedicated State Farm case load (general liability and casualty defense).
This is a full-case ownership role — from initial suit through trial. The right person will manage multiple files independently, produce high-quality work product, and become a seamless extension of the litigation team.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 4 days in office (Jackson, MS 39157 Zip Code), 1 day WFH
Compensation: $60–70K base (up to $75K for exceptional candidates with the right experience)
Key Responsibilities
• Draft routine legal documents (pleadings, motions, discovery responses, production documents)
• Manage multiple cases end-to-end (onset of suit through trial)
• Collect, organize, analyze, and summarize medical records, deposition transcripts, and discovery materials
• Conduct document searches, factual research, and gather information from all relevant sources (including legal research)
• Review and analyze documents; prepare summaries as requested
• Adapt to and maintain existing case-file systems and processes
• Troubleshoot issues and create practical solutions under tight deadlines
Required Qualifications (Hard Stops – Screen These First)
• Paralegal Certificate from an accredited school (required)
• 2+ years’ experience as a personal injury / general liability / casualty defense paralegal (litigation experience in all phases of a case is non-negotiable)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Professional / Adobe DC
• Demonstrated ability to draft clear, professional legal documents
• Strong organizational skills and proven track record managing multiple cases simultaneously
Preferred / Ideal Candidate Profile
• Bachelor’s Degree (strongly preferred)
• Deep experience in personal injury litigation and medical record summarization
• Experience working on insurance defense (State Farm or similar carrier work is a big plus)
• Self-starter who works independently but thrives as a team player
• Excellent written and verbal communication – polished with clients and attorneys
• Adaptable, deadline-driven, and able to shift priorities without dropping the ball
• Long-term mindset: someone who wants to stay and grow with the firm (we will invest heavily in training; we do not want a short-term hire)
