As an Enrolled Agent, you will serve as a trusted advocate representing taxpayers before the IRS and state tax authorities. You will leverage your expertise to assess client tax situations, develop customized resolution strategies, and negotiate with tax agencies on behalf of clients. Your goal is to provide clear, effective, and ethical solutions that meet the unique needs of each client.
Key Responsibilities:
Represent clients before the IRS and state tax agencies in audits, collections, appeals, and other tax matters.
Analyze and interpret tax laws and regulations to provide accurate guidance and advice.
Develop and negotiate tailored solutions including installment agreements, currently non-collectible status, penalty abatements, and removal of liens and levies.
Prepare and review tax returns and financial documentation as needed to support case resolutions.
Maintain detailed records of client communications and case progress.
Educate clients on tax compliance and planning to minimize future liabilities.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure the best outcomes for clients.
Stay current with tax law changes and IRS procedures to maintain expert-level knowledge.
Qualifications:
Enrolled Agent (EA) designation required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience representing taxpayers before the IRS and state tax agencies.
Strong knowledge of IRS collections, audits, appeals, and tax resolution techniques.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
Preferred:
Experience working in a tax resolution or tax consulting firm.
Familiarity with business tax issues and small business accounting.
