We’re hiring Engineering Technicians I & II to support critical District projects through hands-on fieldwork, drafting, GIS mapping, inspections, and technical support. If you enjoy variety, problem-solving, and working both indoors and outdoors—this role delivers.
What You’ll Do:
Depending on your level, you’ll support or independently perform a wide range of engineering and field activities, including:
Perform field engineering and surveying work: measurements, sampling, testing, stream gauging, fire flow tests, and inspections
Create and maintain engineering drawings, maps, and datasets using CADD and GIS
Collect, analyze, summarize, and document technical data
Prepare schematics, plans, profiles, record drawings, and reports
Support capital improvement and development projects by coordinating with engineers, operations staff, contractors, and public agencies
Assist with regulatory reporting and engineering documentation
Maintain accurate engineering files, logs, and project records
Provide responsive, professional service to customers and stakeholders
Engineering Technician II staff take on more complex assignments, manage multiple projects, exercise independent judgment, and may review the work of others.

What You Bring:
Associate’s degree in engineering or a related field
Strong interest or experience in drafting, GIS, surveying, and field engineering
Ability to interpret plans, maps, specifications, and technical documents
Comfortable working independently or as part of a team

Experience Requirements
Engineering Technician I: Entry-level; no experience required
Engineering Technician II: Two years of experience equivalent to Engineering Technician I
