Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator or Senior Electrical Estimator for a full-time direct hire opportunity in Canoga Park, CA. The Electrical Estimator will play a key role in the preconstruction and bidding process, partnering with estimating, project management, vendors, subcontractors, and operations teams to help secure profitable work. Senior-level candidates will also have the opportunity to mentor others, support strategic bid decisions, and contribute to department leadership.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed electrical construction estimates for commercial, industrial, institutional, municipal, and public works projects.
- Perform quantity takeoffs, review plans and specifications, and analyze bid documents for scope, risk, and compliance requirements.
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate vendor and subcontractor pricing to ensure complete and competitive bid coverage.
- Develop bid packages, RFIs, exclusions, value-engineering options, and supporting documentation for final bid submission.
- Participate in bid reviews, pre-bid meetings, job walks, project handoffs, and estimating strategy discussions.
- Collaborate with project managers, operations teams, suppliers, subcontractors, clients, and general contractors to support successful project transitions.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Prepare complete electrical estimates from conceptual budgeting through final bid submission.
- Perform electrical quantity takeoffs and evaluate labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and vendor costs.
- Manage multiple bid deadlines while maintaining accuracy, competitiveness, and scope completeness.
- Support estimating strategy, risk analysis, bid reviews, and project handoffs to operations.

- 6 to 10 years of electrical estimating experience preferred for this opportunity.
- Experience estimating electrical construction projects in commercial, industrial, institutional, or public works environments.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, specifications, bid documents, and contract requirements.
- Strong understanding of labor productivity, material pricing, scope coverage, project risk, and procurement considerations.
- Experience using estimating software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- High attention to detail, professionalism, confidentiality, and a team-oriented approach.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience estimating commercial electrical construction projects.
- Public works project experience.
- Design-build estimating experience.
- Experience with industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, municipal projects, or large tenant improvements.
- Proven ability to estimate and win large or complex electrical construction projects.
- Experience mentoring junior estimators or contributing to estimating department leadership.
