Job Summary
A growing organization in the aerospace and defense industry is seeking an Electrical Engineer for a direct hire opportunity in Huntington Beach, CA. This role is ideal for a hands-on hardware engineer with experience designing, prototyping, validating, and supporting multi-layer PCB assemblies and integrated electrical systems.
The Electrical Engineer will work on advanced industrial hardware, including precision optical inspection devices and aerospace-grade component processing systems. Key Responsibilities
- Design and support multi-layer PCB assemblies, including power delivery, signal routing, ruggedized connectors, and electrical interfaces.
- Perform schematic capture and PCB layout using controlled impedance routing and signal integrity best practices.
- Lead board bring-up, electrical validation, troubleshooting, and hands-on lab debugging for prototype and production hardware.
- Support signal and power integrity analysis to ensure reliable system performance across operating conditions.
- Contribute to end-of-line test infrastructure, including test fixtures, firmware flashing workflows, and production validation sequences.
- Create and maintain electrical documentation, including schematics, BOMs, assembly drawings, test procedures, and calibration documentation.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Design, prototype, validate, and support multi-layer PCB assemblies and integrated electrical systems.
- Lead board bring-up, electrical testing, lab debugging, and production hardware validation.
- Support system integration across firmware, mechanical, optical, and manufacturing teams.
- Develop documentation packages, test procedures, BOMs, and production validation support materials.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience designing, laying out, and validating electrical systems.
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Altium Designer or equivalent.
- Understanding of signal integrity, controlled impedance routing, high-speed PCB design, and low-noise PCB design principles.
- Practical experience using lab and test instrumentation, including digital oscilloscopes, power supplies, and hipot testing.
- Experience with MOSFET-based high-frequency DC-DC switching, power conditioning, and noise-sensitive circuit design.
- Familiarity with embedded systems, firmware programming or debugging, and scripting such as Python for automation or integration support.
- Experience with grounding, shielding, filtering, EMC practices, CE compliance, and machine safety requirements.
- Experience with wire harness design, connector selection, umbilical system integration, shielding, strain relief, and environmental considerations.
- Knowledge of design for manufacturing, hardware design reviews, configuration management, and revision control processes.
- Experience with high-speed digital interfaces such as MIPI CSI-2, DSI, or USB3 Vision.
- Strong debugging, diagnostic, and systematic problem-solving skills in a hardware engineering environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with department managers, staff, and outside vendors.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to maintain accurate engineering records.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend up to 30 percent of the time and remain stationary up to 70 percent of the time.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and operate standard office equipment.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse setting with fluorescent lighting, no air conditioning or central heating, and moderate noise levels.
