AppleOne is pleased to profit with a Non-Profit organization in San Clemente seeking a Donor Development Manager. This role involves donor engagement, grant writing and management of key corporate relationships to maximize impact.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Development Manager will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies to support our mission. This role involves managing donor relationships, identifying new fundraising opportunities, and driving initiatives that increase philanthropic support for our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fundraising, excellent communication skills, and a passion for inspiring a love of giving.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan that aligns with the organizations mission and goals, focusing on individual donors, corporate partnerships, grants, and special events.
Donor Cultivation and Stewardship: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective donors. Implement effective stewardship practices to ensure donor engagement and retention.
Grant Management: Identify and pursue grant opportunities. Prepare and submit grant
applications, and manage reporting requirements to secure funding from foundations and
government agencies.
Corporate Partnerships: Cultivate relationships with corporate partners to secure sponsorships and in-kind donations. Develop and execute strategies for corporate giving and employee engagement programs.
Special Events: Collaborate with the Associate Director to plan and execute fundraising events, including donor recognition events, galas, and community outreach activities. Work together to attract donors to these events, creating an engaging and impactful experience. Coordinate with volunteers and staff to ensure all aspects of the event are well-organized and successful.
Communications and Marketing: Work with the marketing team to develop compelling
fundraising materials, including newsletters, annual reports, and online content. Craft
personalized donor communications and appeals.
Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the CRM system.
Analyze fundraising data to inform strategies and measure success.
Budgeting and Reporting: Develop and manage the fundraising budget. Provide regular reports on fundraising progress and outcomes to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the Executive Director, Associate Director, Board
members, and other staff to align fundraising efforts with organizational priorities and
initiatives.
Education, Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree, with master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related field,
preferably within a nonprofit organization.
• Proven track record of successful fundraising campaigns and donor relations.
• Extensive knowledge of foundation and corporate foundation/philanthropy funding
communities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities simultaneously and meet grant
and reporting deadlines.
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data with the facility to understand complex
budgeting models.
• Proficient in the use of Salesforce, Microsoft office and Excel
