Job Title: Dispatcher
Compensation : 20-21 per hour
Location: Onsite Hudson Valley 12209
Position Summary
The Dispatcher is responsible for efficiently coordinating Company-owned fleet vehicles and contracted providers to deliver timely and effective emergency road service to Company members. This role requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Basic automotive knowledge
Previous dispatching and/or call-taking experience preferred
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Receive incoming emergency road service calls and dispatch tow trucks to appropriate locations. Follow up to ensure members receive timely service.
• Prioritize calls based on safety, weather, traffic, location, and other relevant factors, ensuring police and emergency calls meet required response times.
• Track fleet driver productivity, breaks, and behaviors using Fleet Tracker.
• Utilize Samsara to monitor fleet driver performance.
• Assist membership services with member packets and renewal callbacks.
• Communicate with affiliate clubs regarding membership status and service approvals.
• Conduct Keeping Members Informed (KMI) procedures.
• Dispatch private contractor networks effectively and efficiently.
• Assist in training new road service dispatch personnel.
• Respond to Podium requests.
• Support the ERS Manager/Admin and Fleet Supervisor in investigating towing damage complaints.
• Monitor phone queues to ensure service levels are maintained.
• Assist drivers with battery inventory scans.
• Support escalation of member complaints as needed.
Required Skills and Abilities
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and overtime as required; schedule may change based on business needs.
• Strong phone etiquette and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Patience and empathy when assisting individuals in stressful situations.
• Knowledge of the Capital District, surrounding counties, and rural areas.
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong computer skills, including email and data entry.
• Ability to use Google Maps and other mapping tools.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
Ability to remain seated at a desk for prolonged periods.
