We are seeking a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis for a direct hire opportunity in Pasadena, CA. This senior finance leadership role is ideal for an experienced FP&A professional who excels at budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, executive reporting, capital planning, and strategic business partnership.
Reporting to the Vice President of Finance & Treasury, the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis will lead financial planning and performance analysis across the organization and its subsidiaries. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with executive leadership, department heads, investors, and board-level stakeholders while supporting strategic initiatives, business growth, M&A activity, and operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and business priorities.
- Prepare executive-level financial reporting packages, board presentations, investor materials, KPI reporting, variance analysis, and ROI evaluations.
- Manage cash flow forecasting, capital planning, liquidity analysis, and financial oversight for large-scale projects.
- Support M&A activity through financial modeling, evaluation, due diligence, and integration planning.
- Develop and maintain complex financial models, planning tools, dashboards, and business intelligence reporting to support decision-making.
- Partner with internal stakeholders on audits, process improvements, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency initiatives.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: $178,000 to $210,000 per year.
- Job Type: Direct hire.
- Location: Pasadena, CA.
- Lead enterprise-wide budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Manage capital and operational budgets, cash flow forecasting, and project-based financial oversight.
- Deliver financial reporting, executive presentations, KPI analysis, and strategic recommendations.
- Support M&A modeling, due diligence, integration planning, and financial process improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or a related field required.
- 8+ years of experience managing capital and operational budgets required.
- 8+ years of management and leadership experience required.
- 5+ years of experience interacting with executive leadership, including Vice President level and above, required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required, including complex financial modeling, advanced formulas and functions, dynamic dashboards, and executive-ready presentations.
- Strong understanding of financial planning and analysis, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, KPI reporting, capital planning, and cash flow management.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to senior leaders, operational teams, investors, and board-level audiences.
- Strong leadership, analytical thinking, business partnership, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA with Big 4 experience preferred.
- MBA preferred.
- Experience in construction, engineering, or project-based industries strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Cognos TM1, Planning Analytics, Power BI, or similar business intelligence tools preferred.
- 10+ years of corporate finance experience preferred.
