Job Summary
We are seeking a Diesel Technician for a direct hire opportunity in Shreveport, LA. This role is ideal for a motivated technician who is building a career in diesel repair, fleet maintenance, and heavy equipment service. The Diesel Technician will inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, and fleet vehicles to help ensure safe, reliable operation. Trade school certificate, or associates degree preferred. ASE certifications are a major bonus, and on the job training will be considered.

Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines, trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, and fleet vehicles.
- Perform preventative maintenance services, including oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, brake inspections, and tire repairs.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, steering, braking, fuel, and engine performance issues.
- Replace components such as alternators, starters, water pumps, belts, hoses, injectors, and batteries.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and computerized diagnostic equipment to complete repairs accurately and efficiently.
- Complete work orders, maintain accurate repair documentation, and follow safety procedures and maintenance standards.

- Salary range: $50,000 to $60,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Perform inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on diesel-powered equipment and vehicles.
- Support preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve fleet reliability.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, braking, steering, suspension, and fuel system concerns.
- Complete accurate service records and communicate equipment issues with drivers, operators, and management.
- Less than 1 year of experience will be considered.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and computerized diagnostic equipment.
- Basic knowledge of diesel engines, fleet vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and timely repairs.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced maintenance and repair environment.
- On-the-job training will be considered for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade school certificate or associate degree in diesel technology, automotive technology, or a related field.
- ASE certifications are a major plus.
- CDL is a plus.
- Prior experience with trucks, trailers, fleet vehicles, or heavy equipment maintenance.
