We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team in Southaven, MS. This is a direct hire opportunity with a well-equipped shop and occasional mobile service work using a company work truck. If you have strong mechanical knowledge and experience working on diesel engines, we want to hear from you.

Diesel Technicians inspect, diagnose, repair, and overhaul trucks and heavy equipment powered by diesel engines. This includes vehicles such as dump trucks, bulldozers, cranes, and other diesel-powered equipment. The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and mechanical components, along with strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret work orders
• Meet with customers to explain repair processes when needed
• Map out repair procedures using technical manuals and diagnostic charts
• Perform diagnostics and interpret test results to identify mechanical issues
• Inspect transmissions, engines, steering systems, brake systems, and other components
• Replace malfunctioning or worn parts
• Perform preventative maintenance including:
• Oil changes
• Tire rotations
• Brake adjustments
• Fluid checks
• General part replacements
• Use computer diagnostic tools to adjust engine functions
• Test-drive vehicles to ensure repairs are completed properly
• Follow inspection checklists to ensure thorough evaluations
• Perform work in a fully equipped shop and occasionally on mobile service calls

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of diesel engine repair experience preferred
• Minimum 1 year of general mechanical experience preferred
• Stable job tenure at previous jobs
• Strong understanding of diesel systems, electrical components, and diagnostics
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and on-call as needed

Schedule

• 8-hour shifts
• Day and night shift availability
• Monday–Friday
