A growing and established plumbing and HVAC contractor is seeking a Designer to support commercial, multifamily, and residential construction projects in Riverside, CA. This Designer role is a strong opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with experience in plumbing, HVAC, piping, or mechanical design who wants to build long-term career growth with a stable organization.

This position offers hands-on involvement in design, drafting, coordination, and field support for real construction projects. The team environment is collaborative and project-focused, with regular interaction between design, project management, fabrication, and field operations. Key Responsibilities

- Review commercial, multifamily, and residential plumbing and HVAC plans, then set up CAD and Revit files for design work.
- Design and modify plumbing, piping, HVAC, and mechanical systems based on project specifications, codes, and field requirements.
- Create 2D and 3D drawings, layouts, details, isometrics, schedules, and fabrication or installation drawings using Revit and/or AutoCAD.
- Review project drawings and submittals for coordination, accuracy, space limitations, constructability, and compliance.
- Perform material takeoffs, prepare material requisitions, and support fabrication and field operations with technical design questions.
- Coordinate with project managers, field foremen, and field teams to resolve design issues, incorporate revisions, and support jobsite needs.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay range: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Job type: Temp-to-hire.
- Work arrangement: Full-time, in-person position in Riverside, CA.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Design and modify plumbing, HVAC, piping, and mechanical systems for commercial, multifamily, and residential projects.
- Prepare Revit and/or AutoCAD drawings, isometrics, layouts, details, schedules, and design revisions.
- Review plans, submittals, and field conditions for coordination, constructability, accuracy, and code compliance.
- Support project managers, fabrication teams, and field operations with design updates and technical coordination.

- 2+ years of experience in plumbing, HVAC, piping, or mechanical design.
- Proficiency with Revit and/or AutoCAD.
- Strong ability to read and interpret plumbing and mechanical plans.
- Working knowledge of applicable plumbing codes, mechanical codes, safety requirements, and industry standards.
- Experience with material takeoffs, isometrics, layouts, and fabrication or installation drawings.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify design conflicts and constructability concerns.
- Good communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with project managers, foremen, and field teams.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Familiarity with PHCC standards.
- Hands-on plumbing, HVAC, piping, or mechanical field experience.
- Experience supporting plan/spec and design-build construction projects.
- Ability to occasionally visit jobsites to review field conditions, coordinate design changes, or support project needs.
