Position: Data Specialist / Mailroom Associate
Compensation : $18–$23 per hour, based on experience
Location: Onsite Schenectady 12302
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Data Specialist / Mailroom Associate to support our fast-paced mailing department. This hybrid role blends data processing with hands-on mailroom operations to ensure accurate, timely execution of client mailing projects. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with data, thrives in a production environment, and can manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
• Data Specialist Duties
• Process, clean, and format client mailing lists for accuracy and compliance
• Perform data imports/exports and maintain database integrity
• Use mailing software to prepare files for production
• Ensure adherence to data security and confidentiality standards
• Troubleshoot data-related issues and collaborate with internal teams to resolve them
• Mailroom Associate Duties
• Operate mailing equipment, including inserters, postage meters, and tabbers
• Sort, bundle, and prepare mail in accordance with USPS regulations
• Assist with staging and organizing outgoing mail shipments
• Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or technical degree preferred
• Experience in data entry, database management, or mailing operations is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data handling
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
• Familiarity with mailing software such as BCC, Satori, or similar tools
• Understanding of USPS mailing standards and bulk mail processes
• Experience in a printing, mailing, or production environment
Work Environment
This position involves a combination of office-based data tasks and physical mailroom/warehouse duties. Candidates should be comfortable transitioning between computer work and hands-on production activities.
