Job Title: Cybersecurity Analyst
Location: Buffalo, NY 14202
Employment Type: Full Time
Workplace Type: On-site with limited travel (1–2 times per quarter, 2–3 days, employer-paid)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Compensation: $110,000–$130,000 annually, based on experience
Start Date: Within 2–3 weeks (earlier start possible)
Position Overview: We are seeking a seasoned Cybersecurity Analyst to lead initiatives in securing cloud-native applications and embedding robust security practices throughout the software development lifecycle. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity standards and frameworks. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and monitor security controls, automate compliance processes, and support federal cybersecurity operations.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity and federal compliance
• Proficient in scripting languages such as Python or Bash, and working with RESTful APIs
• Experienced with source code management tools (e.g., Visual Studio, Git/GitHub)
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure components (VPCs, subnets, security groups, 3-tier architecture)
• Deep knowledge of security principles across operating systems, networks, and applications
• Advocate for automation-first approaches in secure software development
• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility
• Military background preferred
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and continuous monitoring to achieve and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO)
• Apply DoD cybersecurity frameworks including NIST and FedRAMP standards
• Design and enforce AWS network policies, Pod security policies, and container security strategies
• Utilize STIG checklists and eMASS for CCI documentation and compliance reporting
• Enhance operational efficiency for DHA and DISA in agile environments
• Integrate application security tools (SAST, DAST, SCA) into CI/CD pipelines
• Architect and deploy containerized applications and microservices
• Automate cloud infrastructure tasks using serverless technologies and event-driven patterns
• Use CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions and Jenkins for security automation
• Conduct threat modeling and security design reviews
