We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Library Assistant and Cashier. This dual-role position combines the responsibilities of assisting library patrons with providing cashier services for book sales, fines, and other transactions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for books and public service, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Library Assistant:
Greet and assist library patrons with locating materials and using library resources
Check materials in and out using the library system
Shelve returned books and maintain order in collections
Help with basic computer and catalog use
Support programming and events when needed
Maintain a quiet, welcoming, and organized environment
As a Cashier:
Handle cash and card transactions for fines, fees, and sales
Balance cash drawer at the end of each shift
Issue receipts and maintain accurate transaction records
Assist with inventory of sale items (e.g., used books, merchandise)
