Job Summary

We are seeking dependable full-time Customer Service Representative-WFH candidates for a contract/temporary opportunity in the energy and utilities industry. This remote call center role is a strong fit for customer-focused professionals who enjoy helping people, solving problems, and working in a structured, performance-driven environment.

As a Customer Service Representative-WFH, you will support customers with utility billing questions, service requests, account updates, emergency calls, payment arrangements, and assistance program referrals. This opportunity offers a supportive team setting, clear expectations, structured 13-week training, and the chance to build valuable experience in a high-demand customer support field.

The ideal candidate is reliable, patient, detail-oriented, and comfortable using multiple computer systems while delivering professional service from a secure home workspace. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, adaptability, sound judgment, and a positive attitude toward learning and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

- Respond to inbound customer calls regarding utility bills, meter reads, service requests, emergency calls, account inquiries, and payment questions.
- Process move-ins, service transfers, refunds, compensation requests, payment arrangements, and account updates.
- Investigate billing accuracy concerns and route escalated customer issues for resolution when needed.
- Initiate service orders, provide service order status updates, and direct customers to appropriate self-service channels.
- Refer customers to special programs such as Energy Assistance, CRISIS, Dollar Energy, or other available support resources.
- Meet individual deadlines, call center performance metrics, and team goals while working cooperatively in a remote environment.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay rate: $22 to $24 per hour.
- Job type: Contract/Temporary.
- Work arrangement: Work from home.
- Location: Chester, VA.
- Candidates must be within a 45-mile radius.
- Schedule availability required between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
- Must be able to attend 100% of the 13-week training program.



Required Qualifications and Skills

- Handle customer billing, service order, emergency, and account-related calls in a professional remote call center setting.
- Process utility service requests, account changes, payment arrangements, and customer assistance referrals.
- Use multiple computer systems, tabs, and windows to research, document, and resolve customer inquiries.
- Meet call center performance metrics, deadlines, and team expectations.

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and basic math skills.
- Advanced computer skills, including the ability to navigate multiple tabs, windows, and systems.
- Must have the ability to type 60 to 65 WPM.
- Must complete a CSR aptitude assessment.
- Must maintain high-speed wired internet access with at least 75 Mbps download and 15 Mbps upload.
- Must use hardwired internet only, with no Wi-Fi or satellite internet.
- Must have a secure, private, non-disruptive workspace in the home with proper ergonomic office equipment and setup.
- Must have a smartphone available to download and use a VPN app on a personal device.
- Must be reliable, detail-oriented, adaptable, and enthusiastic about learning.

Preferred Qualifications


- 2 to 3 years of call center experience preferred.
- Previous work-from-home customer service experience preferred.
- Utility industry experience preferred.
- Experience handling high-volume customer inquiries, billing questions, service requests, or account support preferred.
- Must have the ability to type 60 to 65 WPM.
