Our client is seeking an experienced AVP–Credit Analyst/Underwriter to support credit analysis, underwriting, and loan portfolio management. This role requires strong analytical skills, independent judgment, and the ability to evaluate commercial, business, and personal credit risk. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, works with minimal supervision, and maintains a high level of accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and analyze credit risks using portfolio management software
Identify geographic, property type, and market exposures within the loan portfolio
Manage portfolio monitoring processes and identify higher-risk relationships
Develop credit stress scenarios and perform stress analysis on construction and development projects
Support annual CRE loan reviews and tickler monitoring
Review and spread financial statements, tax returns, and P&L statements for borrowers and guarantors
Prepare detailed credit analyses and credit request authorizations for Loan Committee
Provide analytical and operational support, including annual financial reviews and covenant monitoring
Review credit reports, appraisal assumptions, and leases to identify potential concerns
Collaborate with Senior Underwriters, Loan Officers, and Borrowers to obtain required information
Complete a minimum of 10 CRA volunteer hours per year (during business hours; mileage reimbursed)
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
3–5 years of commercial banking experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools
Ability to work independently and maintain regular full-time attendance
Strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
