We are seeking an experienced Cost Accountant - Manufacturing for a direct hire opportunity with a growing manufacturing organization in Orlando, FL. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labor, overhead, job cost variances, gross margins, and key performance indicators.
- Perform inventory analysis and reconciliations for raw materials, work in process, finished goods, scrap, shrink, obsolescence, and cycle count activity.
- Partner with engineering and operations to maintain accurate Bills of Materials and support production costing.
- Prepare inventory-related journal entries, account reconciliations, cost reports, and monthly close support.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, manufacturing cost planning, annual audits, and physical inventory processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve inventory controls.
Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range of $85,000 to $100,000 per year.

- Flexible start time between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM.
- 8-hour workday with choice of a 30-minute or 60-minute lunch, or the option to work through lunch if preferred.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Analyze manufacturing costs, production variances, gross margin trends, and operational KPIs.
- Support inventory accounting, cycle counts, reconciliations, and physical inventory processes.
- Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to maintain BOM accuracy and improve costing processes.
- Prepare cost accounting entries, reconciliations, close support, and manufacturing cost planning reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3 to 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, Bills of Materials, labor and overhead absorption, raw materials, WIP, cycle counting, and inventory reconciliation.
- Experience using an ERP system such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Business Central, Infor Syteline, or a similar platform.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Manufacturing accounting experience is required. Distribution, banking, or general accounting experience alone will not be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Cost Accountant or Inventory Accountant role.
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations, inventory controls, production costing, and cost improvement initiatives.
- Background working closely with engineering, procurement, production, and operations teams in a manufacturing environment.
