The Cost Accountant – Manufacturing will support cost analysis, inventory control, ERP data integrity, and financial reporting across multiple manufacturing entities. This role is fully onsite and offers a steady 40-hour work week with no expectation of extended or excessive month-end hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labor, overhead, work-in-process, finished goods, scrap, shrink, and obsolescence.
- Prepare cost reports, margin analysis, variance reporting, and production cost insights to support business decisions.
- Support inventory reconciliation, cycle counts, physical inventory audits, and inventory control processes.
- Partner with engineering and production teams on bill of materials updates, cost improvements, and operational analysis.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, CAPEX planning, monthly close, journal entries, and audit preparation.
- Maintain and reconcile inventory general ledger accounts while supporting ERP data accuracy and integrity.

- Salary range: $85,000 to $10,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare cost reports, margin analysis, and variance reporting.
- Support inventory reconciliation, cycle counts, physical inventory audits, and inventory control.
- Partner with engineering and production on BOM updates, cost improvements, and production analysis.
- Support monthly close, journal entries, audit preparation, budgeting, forecasting, and CAPEX planning.
- 3 to 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Strong understanding of bill of materials, labor and overhead absorption, raw materials, WIP, finished goods, cycle counting, and inventory control.
- ERP experience required, with Infor Syteline preferred. SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics experience is also acceptable.
- Strong Excel skills and financial analysis capabilities.
- Manufacturing industry background required. Non-manufacturing accounting experience will not be considered.
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to collaborate across finance, engineering, and production teams.
- Experience level aligned with 6 to 10 years of professional accounting or finance experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace, defense, aviation, or precision manufacturing experience.
- Experience in high-accuracy inventory environments.
- Exposure to standard costing, CAPEX tracking, and production analysis.
