A growing aerospace and manufacturing organization in Orlando, FL is seeking a Cost Accountant to join its accounting team on a full-time, direct hire basis. The Cost Accountant will support manufacturing operations through cost analysis, inventory accounting, variance review, KPI reporting, and financial planning support. This role is fully onsite near Orlando International Airport and provides the opportunity to make a direct impact within a long-standing, veteran-owned manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labor, overhead, absorption, WIP, and finished goods inventory.
- Prepare cost analysis, gross margin reporting, productivity KPIs, and job cost variance reviews to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Monitor inventory valuation, cycle count compliance, ABC classifications, shrinkage, scrap, obsolescence, and inventory turnover.
- Reconcile physical inventory counts, off-site inventory, warehouse locations, inventory subledgers, and related general ledger accounts.
- Partner with engineering, production, and operations teams to maintain Bills of Material and support cost reduction initiatives.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, labor planning, capital expenditure support, monthly business reviews, fixed asset schedules, and annual audit preparation.

Compensation and Benefits

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Perform manufacturing cost accounting, cost analysis, and job cost variance reporting.
- Manage inventory accounting, reconciliations, cycle count support, and inventory valuation analysis.
- Support BOM maintenance, overhead rate calculations, budgeting, forecasting, and manufacturing KPI reporting.
- Partner cross-functionally with engineering, production, operations, and accounting teams.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3 or more years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, Bills of Material, cycle counting, raw materials, labor, overhead absorption, WIP, and finished goods inventory.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Infor Syteline, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or Business Central.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-through.
- Ability to work effectively across accounting, engineering, production, and operations teams.
- Manufacturing experience is required. Candidates from banking, financial services, distribution-only, or non-manufacturing accounting environments will not be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

- Current or recent experience in roles such as Cost Accountant, Inventory Accountant, Manufacturing Accountant, Senior Cost Accountant, Plant Accountant, or Cost Analyst.
- Aerospace, defense, precision manufacturing, or related manufacturing industry experience.
- Experience supporting annual physical inventory processes and cycle count programs.
- Experience preparing inventory-related journal entries, reconciliations, and fixed asset schedules.
