Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join their manufacturing team. This role is responsible for analyzing production costs, maintaining accurate cost accounting records, and supporting financial decision-making through detailed cost reporting and analysis.
The ideal candidate has strong experience working in a manufacturing environment and is proficient with ERP systems and cost of goods sold (COGS) reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze and maintain accurate cost of goods sold (COGS), inventory valuation, and manufacturing cost data
Monitor and report on standard vs. actual costs, including variance analysis
Maintain and update bill of materials (BOMs) and routing data within the ERP system
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes related to inventory and cost accounting
Reconcile inventory accounts and ensure accuracy between physical and system records
Collaborate with operations, production, and supply chain teams to improve cost efficiency
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost modeling for manufacturing operations
Prepare financial reports and provide insights to management on cost trends and variances
Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Hands-on experience with a manufacturing ERP system (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
Strong understanding of COGS, inventory accounting, and standard costing methods
Experience with BOMs, work orders, and production costing
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Experience with lean manufacturing or process improvement environments
