Cost Accountant
Compensation: $25.00–$28.84/Hour

About the Role
A well established manufacturing organization is working with AppleOne Fresno to hire their Cost Accountant plays a key role in maintaining accurate manufacturing costs, improving cost visibility, and supporting operational performance. This position works closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Production to ensure strong cost controls, accurate inventory valuation, and reliable financial reporting. Experience in manufacturing and ERP software platforms is highly preferred.
?? Key Responsibilities
• Maintain and update standard costs for raw materials, packaging, labor, and overhead
• Analyze manufacturing variances including material usage, yield, scrap, waste, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption
• Partner with Operations to identify root causes of variances and recommend corrective actions
• Support margin analysis by product, customer, and production line
• Manage inventory costing for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
• Ensure accurate WIP tracking, job costing, and production reporting
• Participate in cycle counts and physical inventory; investigate discrepancies
• Calculate and maintain inventory reserves
• Reconcile inventory-related balance sheet accounts
• Maintain accurate BOMs, routings, yields, and labor standards
• Provide financial insights on throughput, downtime, rework, and capacity utilization
• Support month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting
• Prepare cost and operational reports for management
• Maintain cost accounting structures within the ERP system
• Strengthening internal controls over inventory and cost allocation
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
• Assist with SOP documentation, audits, and inventory observations
• Manage daily Work Order processing and analysis
• Perform special projects, financial analysis, and reporting as needed
?? Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounting/finance experience with strong cost accounting background
• Experience in manufacturing or similar industry preferred
• Strong proficiency with ERP systems
• Proven experience with month-end close and financial reporting
• Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong communication and cross functional collaboration abilities
• Highly detail oriented with a focus on accuracy and process improvement
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling
