About the Role
An internationally recognized airline is seeking an experienced Corporate Sales Assistant Manager to join its Corporate Sales team in the Los Angeles (Torrance) area. This leadership role is responsible for driving corporate revenue growth, managing a geographically dispersed sales team, and collaborating cross-functionally—most notably with United Airlines—to execute Pacific Joint Venture (JV) objectives.
This position will oversee five Field Sales Managers located in New York, Chicago, Washington D.C., and Houston, making prior people management experience essential. We are specifically seeking an external candidate with a proven background in corporate sales leadership and direct-report management.
Key Responsibilities
Achieve assigned corporate sales unit targets and route revenue goals within the designated market/territory
Lead, coach, and manage five Field Sales Managers across multiple U.S. markets
Oversee the goal-setting process, conduct performance evaluations, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback
Drive business development initiatives and maintain strong corporate account relationships
Support the development and execution of annual sales plans, strategies, and budget allocations
Monitor and evaluate team sales performance, adjusting strategies to maximize revenue outcomes
Manage sales budgets and provide regular updates and performance reports to Senior Management
Maintain awareness of airline industry trends and market conditions to strengthen competitive positioning
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external partners, including United Airlines, to ensure alignment on Pacific Joint Venture strategies
Develop and coordinate sales strategies related to pricing, promotions, and revenue management
Provide strategic guidance on pricing, cost structures, and contract negotiations
Organize and participate in internal, cross-departmental, and JV-related sales meetings
Act as a regional Marketing & Sales support leader for The Americas by assessing staffing needs and directing temporary sales support resources
Perform additional sales and marketing duties as assigned by Senior Management
Qualifications & Experience
5–10 years of experience in Corporate Sales, preferably within the airline or travel industry
Proven people management experience, including responsibility for managing direct reports
Strong track record of revenue growth, sales strategy execution, and team leadership
Experience working in a Corporate Sales Department within aviation or travel
Demonstrated ability to manage remote, geographically dispersed teams
Proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
Language Requirements
Fluent in English (required)
Japanese language skills (preferred)
