Summary: Performs Human Resources related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, recruiting/hiring, compensation, benefits, HRIS administration, and reporting.
Principal Duties:
1. Manage recruiting and hiring processes in adherence with federal, state, and local regulations including but not limited to coordinating job postings, sourcing candidates, screening resumes, scheduling interviews and extending offers.
2. Conduct all pre-hiring and onboarding processes including but not limited to employment verifications, reference checks, education verifications etc.
3. Complete all I-9 employment eligibility verifications and audits and maintain employee files.
4. Assist with benefit administration tasks in accordance with the SPS benefit plan.
5. Conduct exit interview meetings and provide feedback to management, as appropriate.
6. Prepare weekly and monthly reports, as needed.
7. Assist with FMLA, ADA and other leave of absence processes in adherence with federal, state, and local regulations, as needed.
8. Assist employees with HR related questions and requests in adherence with HR policy and procedures.
9. Assists with other HR duties, as necessary, to support the department.
Job Specifications:
· One to two years of experience in Human Resources preferred.
· Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities at once.
· Strong and effective oral and written communication skills.
· Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.
· Proficient in Word and Excel and familiar with HRIS systems.
· Bachelor’s degree in HRM, or a related field, preferred.
