Corporate Controller

We are seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to oversee financial reporting, accounting operations, and internal controls for a growing construction services company. This key leadership role partners closely with the VP-Treasurer (CFO) as a trusted right-hand leader, focusing on the analytical and strategic side of finance while collaborating with Branch Controllers to ensure consistent compliance and performance across all locations.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead corporate accounting and financial reporting activities, including preparation of quarterly financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
Establish and maintain strong internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and all federal, state, and local regulations
Oversee the monthly closing process, accounts payable, expense management, and reimbursements
Monitor financial performance across the company and branches, providing insightful analysis and actionable recommendations to support profitability and operational efficiency
Partner with finance team members and operational leaders to drive process improvements and accurate financial reporting
Manage and develop the corporate accounting team, setting clear goals and tracking performance
Coordinate with external auditors for the semi-annual review and annual audit
Support the budgeting process and provide financial insights to senior leadership

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s degree preferred)
10+ years of progressive experience in a Controller role
CCIFP (Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional) strongly preferred
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) preferred
Proven experience in the construction industry or a strong understanding of construction financial management and job-cost accounting is highly desired
Proficiency with MS Office, ERP systems, and Spectrum (Job Cost) software

Competitive base salary of $200,000
401(k) with 3% company match
3 weeks vacation + 5 days sick time
Performance bonus eligibility after one full calendar year
Business professional dress code
Primarily onsite schedule (Monday–Friday) with limited remote flexibility only when absolutely necessary
