Controller – Manufacturing / Distribution (Hands-On, Operational Focus)
Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing and distribution company, is seeking a hands-on Controller to oversee financial operations and partner closely with leadership.
This role offers the opportunity to step into a highly visible position within the organization, bringing structure, insight, and accountability to the financial function while supporting continued growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting functions including month-end close, financial reporting, A/P, A/R, and general ledger
- Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data and reporting
- Partner with leadership to provide insight into business performance, cost management, and operational efficiency
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, surface issues, and develop solutions that improve performance
- Identify and implement process improvements, strengthen internal controls, and enhance reporting capabilities
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Work cross-functionally with operations to align financial performance with business goals
- Leverage systems and tools to improve efficiency, including ERP platforms and automation where appropriate
Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience (10+ preferred)
- Experience with cost accounting and inventory in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory, and operational finance
- Experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite or similar strongly preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of issues, investigate root causes, and implement effective solutions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams
- Comfortable working directly with ownership and providing clear, actionable insight
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability, with the ability to operate independently while keeping leadership informed
- Experience supporting audits or preparing financials for review is a plus
Compensation
+ Base salary range: $170,000 – $180,000 or DOE
