Controller – Multi Entity Operations
Compensation: $140,000 – $195,000 annually

Location: Fresno, California (On Site)
A fast growing, multi entity organization based in Fresno is partnering with AppleOne to recruit a highly experienced Controller to lead its accounting and financial operations. This is a confidential opportunity for a strategic, hands on accounting leader with deep GAAP expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and experience managing complex, diversified business structures.
The ideal candidate brings advanced knowledge of ERP systems, multi entity financial reporting, and operational accounting, along with the ability to partner with executive leadership to support growth and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight & Reporting
• Lead all accounting functions across multiple legal entities, including general ledger, month end and year end close, and consolidated financial reporting
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable industry accounting standards
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, cash flow forecasts, and variance analyses
• Develop, document, and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity
Operational & Industry Specific Accounting
• Oversee fuel accounting, including inventory reconciliation, cost and price change analysis, and margin reporting
• Manage accounting locations, including daily sales reporting, credit card reconciliations, and shrink analysis
• Lead real estate accounting functions, including job costing, fixed asset tracking, depreciation schedules, lease administration, and rent roll reporting
ERP Systems & Process Optimization
• Serve as the internal ERP subject matter expert, supporting configuration, reporting, and system optimization
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and workflow efficiency
• Partner with IT and operations to support multi entity scalability and system integrations
Risk Management & Insurance
• Manage the organization’s business insurance programs, including renewals, coverage reviews, and broker relationships
• Oversee policies across general liability, property, auto, builder’s risk, workers’ compensation, cyber, and other required coverages
• Serve as the primary liaison with insurance carriers and brokers
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
• Strong technical accounting expertise with deep GAAP knowledge
• Proven experience supporting multi entity and multi location organizations
• Advanced analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• CPA certification preferred
• Experience with ERP systems required; multi entity ERP experience strongly preferred
