Position Title: Controller / Senior Accountant
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly analytical and meticulous Controller to oversee the organization’s comprehensive accounting operations. This position is responsible for maintaining financial integrity, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, and providing leadership across all finance-related activities. The Controller will partner with internal teams, collaborate with external auditors, and coordinate with the parent company’s finance department to deliver timely, accurate financial reporting and support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Direct the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning cycles, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
Establish, document, and monitor accounting policies and internal controls to maintain compliance with regulatory and tax requirements.
Deliver clear and insightful financial analysis to support business initiatives and performance management.
Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, as well as the maintenance of accounting systems.
Partner cross-functionally to develop accounting processes for new business activities and operational changes.
Oversee the implementation of best practices to enhance the accuracy and transparency of reported financial results in line with GAAP and IFRS.
Evaluate complex accounting issues, offering recommendations to improve procedures and strengthen internal controls.
Serve as the primary contact for external audits, ensuring adherence to governance frameworks and regulatory compliance.
Develop in-depth understanding of products and services to contribute to financial planning and operational strategies.
Requirements
Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, with exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
At least 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.
A minimum of 3 years in financial management and analysis, including 3+ years in a leadership capacity managing teams.
Demonstrated experience in financial modeling and advanced Excel proficiency (including XLOOKUP, INDEX, and complex formula design).
Strong problem-solving skills, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to navigate complex financial transactions.
Proactive approach to process improvement and ability to thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment.
Skilled collaborator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across the organization.
Solid knowledge of Power BI, including DAX and Power Query, to prepare data for analysis and reporting.
Proven ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
