The Controller will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial reporting, managing multi-state operations (CA & AZ), and supporting strategic decision-making across both locations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in manufacturing finance and a deep understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily accounting operations including A/R, A/P, payroll, and general ledger
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP
• Manage cash flow, forecasting, and budgeting processes
• Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting policies
• Lead the month-end and year-end close process
• Partner with operations teams to analyze manufacturing costs, margins, and variances
• Ensure accurate inventory reporting, including physical inventory and cycle counts
• Oversee fixed asset management and capital expenditure tracking
• Implement process improvements to drive financial efficiency and accuracy
• Manage ERP and financial software systems (Epicor & Sage)
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred)
• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, job costing, and inventory management
• Experience managing multi-site operations (preferably in CA and AZ)
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Epicor or equivalent)
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• Ability to travel periodically between locations
Preferred Experience:
• Experience in the steel industry or HVAC manufacturing
• Familiarity with California and Arizona tax and labor regulations
*There is also a year end bonus based on annual profit.
