This job order is for a temporary position for a hardware technician to assemble and install server racks in a data center environment. The position is suitable for candidates with strong technical aptitude and experience with cabling and rack integration.

We are seeking a skilled and efficient Contract Server Rack Build Technician for a two-week project. The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical assembly of server racks, integrating hardware, and managing all associated cabling in a data center environment. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to read technical diagrams, and adherence to all safety and quality standards.
Key responsibilities

• Mechanically assemble and integrate server racks, including hardware components, according to detailed specifications and layout diagrams.
• Perform all necessary cabling, labeling, and termination for network, power, and fiber connections to ensure proper routing and organization.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation to ensure quality and precision.
• Execute quality control checks and perform in-process inspections to verify equipment functions and meets all specifications.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment, adhering to all company and data center safety protocols.
• Unbox, inventory, and stage equipment as needed for the build process.
• Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively during assembly.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in server rack assembly, hardware integration, and cable management.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and installation instructions.
• Knowledge of data center hardware, such as servers, storage systems, and networking equipment, is a plus.
• Proficiency with various hand and power tools.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, working on ladders, and standing for extended periods.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
