About the Role
Join a leading company in the Real Estate & Mortgage industry in Ontario, CA, as a Contract Purchasing Administrator. This is an exciting temp-to-hire opportunity where you will support the VP of Multi-Family Construction and the Purchasing team.
You will be the backbone of contract administration, vendor compliance, and purchasing operations, with exposure to advanced Purchasing Agent–level duties as your skills grow. This position requires strong financial acumen, precision, and the ability to thrive in a high-volume, entrepreneurial construction environment.
Core Responsibilities
Manage all contract administration tasks: prepare, track, and manage contracts, change orders, AFPs, and purchase orders.
Ensure subcontractor compliance by handling vendor setup, insurance requirements, and WRAP programs.
Provide critical budgeting support including building and consolidating budgets, cashflows, proformas, and analyzing variances and cost tracking.
Utilize and maintain high-volume data entry in CRM and JDE (or similar construction purchasing systems) to enter bids, generate commitments, and manage databases.
Assist with the full purchasing cycle: bidding, scopes of work, pricing negotiations, and cost tracking.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, contracts, and other financial/legal documents.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in real estate, construction purchasing, construction operations, or contract administration.
Experience supporting multi-family construction or land development projects.
Strong Financial & Analytical skills – ability to build budgets, analyze variances, and work with proformas.
Advanced Excel skills (budgets, formulas, data analysis) and strong data entry/reporting capabilities.
Experience with a major construction purchasing system (like JDE/JD Edwards) and CRM systems.
Exposure to low-income housing tax credit programs (LIHTC) is a plus.
Competencies & Soft Skills
Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Able to juggle multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
An Independent decision-maker comfortable interacting with subcontractors, field personnel, and executives.
