We are seeking an experienced Construction Scheduling Manager to provide scheduling leadership, support, and oversight across an active portfolio of commercial construction projects.
This position will work closely with Preconstruction, Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams to develop, maintain, and manage accurate project schedules from preconstruction through project completion.


The Scheduling Manager will help establish consistent scheduling practices, support baseline schedule development and updates, monitor project progress and critical path activities, identify potential schedule risks, and provide leadership with meaningful information regarding project performance and potential delays.
This is a highly collaborative role for a construction scheduling professional who understands both the technical side of scheduling and the realities of field operations. 



Key Responsibilities:

Preconstruction & Baseline Scheduling

• Develop preliminary project schedules during estimating and preconstruction.

• Assist with schedules aligned with contractual requirements, milestones, procurement, and project execution strategies.

• Partner with Project Managers and Superintendents to develop detailed baseline schedules.

• Establish consistent scheduling standards, templates, calendars, coding structures, and procedures.

• Review schedules for logic, sequencing, durations, milestones, procurement activities, and constructability.

• Identify critical path activities and key project milestones.

Project Scheduling & Forecasting

• Maintain accurate and current project schedules in partnership with PMs and Superintendents.

• Support regular schedule updates and progress tracking.

• Develop realistic forecasts for project completion and major milestones.

• Identify schedule variances and trends and assist with recovery strategies.

• Monitor critical path activities and proactively identify potential schedule impacts.

• Analyze schedule performance and communicate risks and opportunities to project leadership.

• Ensure schedules accurately reflect current field conditions and project expectations.

Project Team Collaboration

• Serve as a scheduling resource and partner to Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams.

• Participate in project planning and scheduling meetings.

• Facilitate schedule reviews and translate schedule information into actionable recommendations.

• Provide training and coaching on scheduling best practices.

• Promote proactive planning, accountability, and schedule ownership.

Company-Wide Scheduling Management

• Maintain visibility into schedule performance across the active project portfolio.

• Develop scheduling reports and dashboards for leadership.

• Identify recurring scheduling issues, trends, and potential resource constraints.

• Help leadership understand upcoming workloads, major milestones, and potential bottlenecks.

• Standardize scheduling processes and best practices.

• Develop scheduling procedures, guidelines, and training materials.

• Assist with establishing scheduling KPIs and performance standards.

Schedule Risk & Recovery

• Identify projects and activities trending behind schedule.

• Work with project teams to determine root causes of delays.

• Assist in developing recovery schedules and mitigation plans.

• Evaluate impacts related to changes, delays, procurement issues, and other project events.

• Provide schedule analysis and documentation supporting project management and potential claims or time-extension requests.

• Escalate significant schedule risks to leadership. 

Qualifications
• 5+ years of construction scheduling experience.
• Commercial construction experience preferred, particularly with a general contractor.
• Experience with complex construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, subcontractor coordination, procurement, and field operations.
• Strong understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) and schedule development.
• Experience developing and maintaining baseline schedules, updates, forecasts, and look-ahead schedules.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar construction scheduling software.
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively collaborate with both field and office personnel.
