Construction Project Manager
Location: Remote (Preferred: Minnesota). Also open to IL, NM, WI, IA, CO, SD, ND, NE, KS, MO, TX
Compensation: $115,000 – $145,000 (up to $150,000 max depending on experience)
Travel: Approximately 25–40% (site travel as needed; travel and lodging covered)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee and coordinate large-scale construction projects from initiation through completion. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and within scope while maintaining strong client relationships and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical construction knowledge, scheduling expertise, and financial/project controls experience, with a preference for candidates in renewable energy and industrial construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
Manage full project lifecycle from job start through completion in collaboration with construction teams
Develop, maintain, and execute project schedules aligned with milestones, budgets, and client expectations
Monitor construction progress, costs, risks, and contingencies to ensure successful delivery
Track schedule performance, KPIs, and project deliverables, providing regular status updates to stakeholders
Serve as primary point of contact for clients across all project phases
Coordinate procurement and ensure materials, subcontractors, and resources are available on time
Prepare, submit, and track change orders using formal change management processes
Maintain project documentation and ensure timely reporting throughout project lifecycle
Communicate safety requirements and quality standards to field teams
Support financial tracking including budgets, margins, forecasting, and invoicing alignment
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and ensure project success
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
5+ years of project management experience in industrial construction or EPC environments
Strong understanding of construction operations, project controls, and capital project oversight
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and blueprints
Experience developing schedules, lookaheads, and baseline project plans
Strong financial understanding including budgets, margins, forecasting, and invoicing
Knowledge of earned value management (EVM), WIP, cost controls, and change order processes
Proficiency with project scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar)
Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
PMP Certification
Experience in solar, renewable energy, utilities, transmission, or battery storage projects
Background in MEP or engineering-driven construction environments
Experience working with large-scale infrastructure or EPC projects
Additional Details
Strong preference for candidates with renewable energy construction experience
Candidates with hospital/school construction backgrounds are not a fit for this role
Role does not include direct people management responsibilities
