Are you a detail-driven accounting professional with a passion for construction finance? We’re looking for a Project Accountant to join our team and take ownership of the financial operations for our construction projects. This is a critical role where you’ll ensure accurate cost tracking, timely invoicing, and strong financial reporting—all while keeping projects running smoothly and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
Review and process project contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and related agreements to ensure compliance with all requirements.

Accurately manage job cost invoices, subcontractor billing, and all project-related financial transactions.

Collaborate with legal and compliance teams when needed.

Maintain well-organized digital and physical records of project documentation.

Reconcile monthly inventories and support material cost analysis.

Process and monitor all project costs including materials, equipment, supplies, and miscellaneous charges.

Perform project closeout activities including reconciliations, final reporting, and invoice wrap-up.

Support time and effort reporting systems, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards.

Review reconciliations and unit entries prepared by accounting support staff.

Ensure timely payments to subcontractors and key suppliers.

Prepare and generate accurate financial statements and reports from multiple data sources.

Contribute to month-end closings and support broader accounting functions.

Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)

3+ years of experience in the commercial construction industry

Solid understanding of construction cost accounting and project financials

Proficiency with accounting platforms such as Sage 300 and Procore

Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills

High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment
