Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Full Charge Construction Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day accounting functions for our construction operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction industry and a strong understanding of job costing, progress billing, subcontractor compliance, and general ledger reconciliation. This role is essential to maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely vendor payments, and supporting project profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and update accounting records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
Track and allocate costs by job/project and assist with job cost analysis.
Manage subcontractor and vendor invoicing, lien waivers, W-9s, and 1099s.
Process weekly or bi-weekly payroll, including certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting when applicable.
Prepare and submit AIA progress billings and support project managers with billing-related questions.
Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and change orders for accuracy and consistency.
Assist with month-end closing, financial reports, and year-end tax preparation.
Maintain compliance with construction-specific accounting standards and documentation requirements.
Collaborate with project managers and field staff to ensure accurate data flow and job tracking.
Support audits and internal controls as needed.

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
3+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
Proficient in QuickBooks, Sage 100 Contractor, Foundation, or similar accounting
