Construction Coordinator — General Contractor
Pay: 28 to 30 per hour DOE
Schedule: Full time
Location: Multiple California offices
About the role
Our client is a full-service general contractor with three California locations, delivering retail, commercial, and restaurant projects. We are hiring a Construction Coordinator to support Project Managers through the full project lifecycle and keep documentation, vendors, and timelines tightly aligned.
Must have
At least 1 year of experience working for a General Contractor. This is required.
Minimum 3 years of construction industry experience overall.
What you will do
Coordinate daily activities for assigned projects in partnership with Project Managers.
Maintain organized project files electronically and physically.
Enter data in Vista software and create project numbers.
Draft and issue subcontracts. Review terms and conditions.
Verify subcontractor compliance items including licenses and certificates of insurance.
Support the field by coordinating vendors, material orders, purchase orders, equipment, and deliveries.
Prepare and track pre-liens. Process lien releases upon payment.
Generate accurate customer invoices and resolve billing issues quickly.
Assist with job cost tracking, budget forecasting, and cost-saving opportunities.
Help build project plans, timelines, and resource requirements.
Gather closeout documents including finals for building, electrical, and plumbing, as-builts, waivers, and warranties.
Manage permit and safety books, daily logs, and weekly client reports.
Pull business licenses and city permits as needed.
What you bring
Proven experience with a General Contractor for 1 year or more.
Strong communication skills with office and field teams.
High attention to detail and deadline discipline.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Experience with Vista or similar construction ERP is a plus.
Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Positive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented approach.
Compensation
28 to 30 per hour DOE
