We are a stable construction and general contracting firm based in Carson, CA, seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Bookkeeper. This full-time position is ideal for someone with a strong background in construction accounting, job costing, and BIS Software. Responsibilities:
Manage accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll, and general ledger entries
Perform job costing and track project budgets, expenses, and profitability
Reconcile bank and credit card statements
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations
Collaborate with project managers and estimators to ensure accurate financial tracking
Manage subcontractor payments, lien releases, and vendor invoicing
Support year-end audits and tax preparation


Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience in the construction or contracting industry
Proficiency in BIS Software or similar construction accounting platforms
Strong understanding of job costing and construction accounting principles
Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
Strong communication and collaboration skills


Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with AIA billing and certified payroll reporting
Experience with ERP systems and BIS construction project management software
