A fast-growing and highly respected construction and development organization is seeking a Construction Accounting Specialist to join our team. This is a critical role supporting the financial health and success of active construction projects.

We are looking for someone who is detail-driven, proactive, and experienced in construction accounting; someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working cross-functionally with both finance and project teams. If you have strong job costing experience, QuickBooks expertise, and a passion for accuracy, this role offers an excellent opportunity for career growth and impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and manage accounts payable and receivable for construction projects
• Review, code, and accurately enter vendor and subcontractor invoices
• Perform job cost tracking and ensure proper cost allocation by project
• Reconcile invoices against purchase orders, contracts, and budgets
• Partner with Project Managers to support budget tracking and financial reporting
• Assist with draw packages, lien releases, and change orders
• Maintain well-organized, audit-ready financial records and documentation
• Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to resolve billing discrepancies
• Support month-end and year-end close processes Assist with payroll data entry and coordination
• Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and standard practices

What We’re Looking For 

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in construction accounting or related field
• Working knowledge of job costing and construction financial processes
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams

Preferred:

• Prior experience supporting construction or development projects
