We are seeking a Construction Accounting Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Poway, CA. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional with strong construction accounting experience who can manage the full accounting cycle, lead month-end close, maintain accurate job costing, and partner closely with project management and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the full accounting cycle, including general ledger activity, reconciliations, AP, AR, billing, and month-end close.
- Prepare and manage construction progress billing, including AIA G702/G703 billing and related project documentation.
- Maintain accurate job costing, project financial records, labor-cost allocation, and expense coding by project.
- Review subcontractor invoices, purchase orders, compliance documents, insurance, bonding, and project-related expenses.
- Analyze project costs, profitability, financial variances, AR aging, and collection activity.
- Prepare financial and management reports while partnering with project managers and operations to support accurate project financial performance.

Compensation and Benefits

- Direct hire opportunity.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Salary range provided: $90,000 to $115,000 per year.



Required Qualifications and Skills

- 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong construction accounting experience is required.
- Experience as an Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, or Full Charge Bookkeeper.
- Strong QuickBooks Desktop experience is required.
- Experience managing month-end close and account reconciliations.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and job costing.
- Experience with subcontractor construction accounting.
- Experience with AIA progress billing, including G702 and G703 forms.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and construction accounting principles.
- Ability to work closely with project managers, operations teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, ownership, follow-through, and ability to manage accounting deadlines accurately.

Preferred Qualifications

- CPA preferred.
- Procore experience preferred.
- Textura billing and release experience preferred.
- ADP payroll experience preferred.
- Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.
