Construction Project Accountant
Key Responsibilities
Job Costing & Project Accounting
Manage job cost setup, budgets, commitments, and cost tracking in Procore (must-have)
Reconcile Procore job cost to Sage 100; resolve sync/export errors
Support cost-to-complete, accruals, and WIP reporting
General Ledger & Month-End
Prepare JEs, accruals, reclasses, and reconciliations under GAAP
Maintain organized documentation for audit and leadership review
Compliance & Process Improvement
Uphold internal controls and approval workflows
Assist with 1099s and sales/use tax where applicable
Recommend tools, templates, and process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with PMs on coding, billings, and backup
Coordinate with vendors, subs, and procurement to resolve issues quickly
What You Bring
1–3 years accounting experience (construction or project-based preferred)
Procore Financials required; Sage 100 strongly preferred
Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS)
Knowledge of GAAP, WIP schedules, AIA billing (G702/G703), FL lien laws, retainage
Detail-oriented, organized, strong communicator
Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-moving environment
Authorized to work in the U.S.
