Responsibilities Qualifications Ideal Candidate
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to voice communications infrastructure, including voice gateways, carrier circuits, and DMARC connections
Diagnose carrier-related issues involving digital and analog circuits and coordinate directly with carrier service providers through ticket management and follow-up
Install, configure, and maintain communications equipment at the board level or as directed
Support and troubleshoot Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity, and Cisco UCCX technologies as needed
Assist users with communication system questions, features, and functionality
Enter and maintain incident and service request tickets within ServiceNow or similar ITSM systems with accurate and detailed documentation
Maintain service activity records including maintenance history, repairs performed, and inventory usage
Monitor inventory levels and communicate equipment or supply needs proactively
Assist and mentor newer Communications Technicians in system orientation and troubleshooting processes
Coordinate with carriers and vendors requiring access to communications equipment and facilities
Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment
Support special projects and additional technical initiatives as assigned
Associate degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or related technical field preferred, or graduation from a technical/trade school
Minimum of 3 years of experience troubleshooting and resolving telecommunications or voice infrastructure issues
Experience working with voice gateways, carrier circuits, and DMARC environments required
Experience supporting Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and Cisco Unity preferred
Experience with Cisco UCCX and Finesse call center technologies preferred
Experience in academic or healthcare environments is a plus
Strong understanding of digital and analog circuitry and data transmission techniques
Familiarity with communications testing equipment including digital multimeters, transmission test sets, tone generators, tone tracers, and related telecom tools
Proficiency using hand tools and communications maintenance equipment
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics preferred
Experience with ServiceNow or similar service management platforms preferred
Valid driver’s license required
Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
Adaptable to multi-shift and multi-location work environments
Detail-oriented with strong technical documentation skills
Team-oriented with a willingness to support and mentor others
