We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Commercial Portfolio Analyst to join our Commercial Credit Monitoring team. This role is essential in ensuring the ongoing health and performance of the Bank’s diverse loan portfolio, including Commercial Real Estate (CRE), Multifamily (MF), Commercial & Industrial (C&I), and Commercial FNMA loans. Under the direction of the Senior Manager – Commercial Credit Monitoring, you will monitor financial compliance, conduct in-depth financial analysis, and serve as a key liaison between clients and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and input financial reporting and covenant requirements for new and renewed loans into nCino or other loan management systems.
Monitor covenant reporting across the loan portfolio, ensuring accurate updates and timely removal of data for paid-off loans.
Proactively engage with clients to collect required financial documentation via phone, email, letters, and in-person meetings.
Review and verify completeness of submitted financials, uploading them to appropriate internal systems.
Track and manage property inspections in coordination with the Appraisal Department.
Perform financial analysis for asset-based C&I loans, including Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable assessments.
Communicate with clients to clarify discrepancies and resolve financial reporting issues.
Provide financial analysis reports to the Commercial Loan Servicing team.
Partner with Client Relationship Managers (CRMs) to resolve borrower over-advance issues.
Conduct a variety of financial evaluations, such as:
Baker Hill spreads
Buker’s Tax Analysis
Personal financial statement adjustments
Debt Service Coverage Ratio (DSCR) calculations
Operating and covenant ratio assessments
Rent roll and operating statement reviews
Commercial lease evaluations
Complete annual reviews of CRE and MF loans per internal guidelines.
Prepare and submit FNMA MF Annual Loan Review Worksheets through the FNMA web portal.
Generate Problem Loan Reports and Impairment Analysts for under performing credits.
Represent the department in Matured and Past Due meetings and assist CRMs in resolving delinquencies.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent work experience.
2–5 years of experience in commercial lending, loan processing, credit analysis, or banking.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify and mitigate credit risk.
Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills; capable of cross-functional collaboration and client communication.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experienced with financial analysis tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
